I just got back from a great long weekend visiting my best friend Jen and her boyfriend Andrew. It was so much fun and tons of partying my one last bang before the end of summer with all this training the drinking has to come to an end. It was tons of fun Friday my friend Doug and Jen's boyfriend Drew went hiking in the North Georgia Mountains, it was so much fun. We crossed a rive over 20 times and I mean a river the water was up over my waist. And of course I feel at least 6 times but don't worry the first time I feel there was Doug behind me to catch me.... but he was more concerned with the sandwiches getting wet so I took a nice header in the river. Needless to say it was a great time the weather was nice and warm the only down side was my shoes were a half size to big so right now I have awful blisters on my feet and I have a race coming up in two weeks :( Wish me luck healing them up soon.
I think I might be getting old also, we partied every night Thursday-Saturday and then had some relaxing wine on Sunday and man it caught up with me for sure. But it was so nice to not have my puppies and cat to look after I got to sleep till noon one day. It was amazing I haven't slept that long in years. But on a sad note when I came home yesterday my cat was gone!!! The neighbor accidentally let him on Saturday. I didn't come home until Monday so the poor guy was stuck out in the rain for 3 days with no food, no claws and never been outdoors before. So last night before I went to bed I put out a bowl of food for him by the back door and sure enough at 4am I got up to let the dogs out and Ozzie was at the door crying to come in. So my little man made it back home I was so happy since he is 13 years old and I have had him for 7 years.
But now I am back home and ready to get into training mode again it was a nice break to going hiking instead of running. So back to the grind.

Ironman
I am starting to get excited and nervous all at the same time, Lake Placid is only 88 days away!!!!! It is all starting to hit me especially with going out of town this weekend and needing to get in a 15 mile run today and a 5 hour ride tomorrow. I get myself stressed out so easily about trying to fit in all this training along with work and a life. I will feel better once I at least get the run done this afternoon. I am a little nervous for tomorrow as it is my first long bike ride all by myself. It is nice to have someone out there with you in case something goes wrong and just for company, but I guess I should get used to that afterall I will be alone in the Ironman for 112 miles. I did a mile time trial swim yesterday and it took me 35 minutes that is such a great improvement over last year it took me at least 45 minutes to swim a mile. So I am starting to get some confidence for the swim which is good since that is my weakest sport and make me nervous as can be. Well enough blabbing for a while I need to get back to work and get stuff done before I head out to hot Lanta Thursday to visit my best friend Jen. Cant wait!!!

Team Captian for Team in Training
I am doing team captain for Team in Training for the spring triathlon season, I am doing it for the Gulf Coast Half Ironman in Panama City, FL. The coaches are great they are very knowledgeable and out going which is always a great thing. I figured that this would be a good way to start my training for my Ironman and a way to make new friends since out team was so outgoing last year.
Tirathlon
I started out doing triathlon last year, I have always been a runner but I was getting bored doing marathons so I figured let do a tri. And if I am going to do one I mind as well start out big so I joined Team in Training and signed up for a Half Ironman in Panama City FL. I also figured if I am going to sign up with a group it should be one that does fundrasing for a great cause Leukemia and Lymphoma. It was one of the best experience of my life. I could not have asked for a better group to have done my first triathlon with! I went to FL with a total of 13 other teammates for the race we had the best time everyone finished the race and still had enough energy to party after the race. Just about everyone from our team still gets together at least once a month for dinner and drinks just to catch up. I could not have asked for a better experience.
New to this
This is my first time actually trying out a blogging site. I figure why not give it a try. There is so much going on and so much to write about. I have a lot of races coming up in the next few months and I am doing my first Ironman. Details to follow.
