It has been a while since I have posted anything on here. I have been very busy with my training and traveling. I have had the pleasure to go to beach for a few weekends and train there with my friend. I also just got back from New York from dropping of my dogs until after the big race.
While I was home I had my last big training weekend before taper begins and it was great. I had a 5 hour ride followed by a 2 hour run. My coach thought it would take me about 5 hours to get in 65 miles but it only ended up taking me 4 hours. So then I put on the running shoes and headed out I ended up doing 8.5 miles and feeling great. Some of that about 3.5 miles I walked with my dad, I know he really wanted to get in his walk so I suggested that I run around the "block" twice then I would pick up him and we could walk one loop together. He was excited to do that. So it was a great workout very tiring but gave me that confidence I needed to for race day. I have only 19 more days until the big race.
So now my dogs are in New York at my parents house enjoying them selves in the big back yard and I am all alone in Vienna, VA :(. I miss them a lot especially since it is tapper right now so things are slowing down for me and it is so hard for me to sit still.
Well that is all for now I am going to go do some work and then enjoy myself a much needed pedicure.

Surgery

Well I went in for surgery last Wednesday and it was no fun! The break was much worse then they thought. Thankfully my mom was in town to bring me to the hospital and help take care of me for the week. I was laid up for a few days and couldnt event walk my dogs. I have a cast on my face and splints sutured on the inside of my nose so that the septum will heal straight. I cant wait to get them out. Yes I did look that bad but some swelling went down after I got the packing pulled out. Now I am minus the cast the splints will be gone tomorrow. Then it is only one more week of no activity I cant wait to get back to working out!!!!!!!!!!
Lake Placid Training Camp
I am a little behind on the posting it has been so buys these past few weeks.
Well I went to Lake Placid over memorial day weekend, with Jen, Christi and Brandon for some training and it was AMAZING. I am soooo looking forward to doing this Ironman the course is challenging and beautiful at the same time.
We got there on Friday and it was pouring so we set up camp and then rode the bike course. Grabbed a bite to eat and made a camp fire and tired to stay warm. It was about 33 degrees at night. Brrr...
Saturday morning we got up and rode the course it was just amazing. I 6 mile down hill that really scared the shit out of me I dont think I have breaks left on my bike lol. But it will feel great the second loop of the course. There are some challenging climbs and lots of small rolling hills very little flat. But it was great I stayed in Zone 2 the majority of my ride and it took me 3 hours 45 minutes and I felt great!!! We finished up the ride went back to camp and Jen and I went for a 6 mile run. I thought my legs were going to feel like crap but surprising they felt great and were ready to move we held a great pace. Christi and Brandon were back at camp waiting for us to finish up our run which was awesome cause Jen and I came back got to take a shower and Brandon was making burgers for us :-).
Then we had to include a little fun on the trip what would camping be with out hitting the local bar. We walked through the woods from camp to the main road to check out the water falls and grab a beer at a local pub. Ahh so much fun we stayed out till midnight then came back to camp drank some more and had chicken sandwiches yummy......
Sunday we got up and went back into town Jen and I were going to ride but I really wanted to see the run course also. So we racked the bikes and decided to head out for a half marathon. The run is going to be pretty such nice views of the mountains and some small inclines but nothing to bad until your way back into town there is a nice hill by the ski jumps then a huge hill right at the end who would do that to you???? Then we tried to go swimming hahah so much for that the water temperature was 53 degrees way to cold for me even in a long sleeve wetsuit and double swim cap. So needless to say I just lounged into the water and iced my muscles but it was such a great training weekend. Good times with good friends and a great training weekend!!!! Bring on the Ironman!!!!!!!!!!!!!
